Our focus on sustainable development has been rewarded this year with the announcement that Irish Cement has become the first company in the Republic of Ireland to attain accreditation to the BES 6001 sustainability standard for our Eco-efficient CEM II products.
In addition to this we have commenced our programme in Platin to substitute a proportion of the fossil fuels used in clinker production with locally available solid recoverable fuel. This waste derived fuel would otherwise be sent to landfill in Ireland.
