Wind Turbines

»

A wind turbine is a generator that converts wind energy into electricity to be used in a home, farm or factory, commercial/industrial premises. In a typical situation the building is served at the same time by the turbine and the electricity from the ESB. When the wind turbine produces more power than the building needs, it is exported back into the grid. The size of turbine depends on the energy demand profile of the building, but for commercial or industrial buildings 500kW to 3mW can be used. The below firms can carry out feasibility studies into using wind turbines, wind measurement, planning permission, ESB grid connection studies.
